Flemish Hydrography
Flemish Hydrography

The Flemish Hydrography team carries out soundings of the seabed and the Scheldt and also locates wrecks. Our employees bring all this information together on sea and Scheldt charts. Changes to the charts will be published in the Notices to Mariners.
The team also collects hydrometeorological data that is used for tide tables, current atlases and the coastal weather forecast. The data is also used in hydraulic engineering projects, offshore activities, research and environmental protection.
The Flemish Hydrography team is a member of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). This organization is the umbrella organization for hydrographic services worldwide and ensures the international standards to which all publications must comply.
